SEO is the acronym for "search engine optimization." Search engine optimization (search engine optimisation is another popular spelling) refers to a generalized body of technical knowledge that can be applied towards increasing the potential ranking of a website or an individual page of a website. There are black hat and white hat SEO methods.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site or a web page (such as a blog) from search engines via "natural" or un-paid ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results as opposed to other forms of search engine marketing (SEM) which may deal with paid inclusion.

Worthy of note is that SEO is only one aspect of Internet marketing that can be used to generate both paid and free traffic to a website or online property.

Theme Zoom uses both SEO and Internet Marketing practices in order to provide a top-down action plan for the average online business owner.
